The moon and the stars are so bright tonight
The caws of the jackdaws cannot mar it
This luminous night, It clears up my sight
Well lit, I pick up needles from the grass
Without injury to spirit or body.
Sister Selene you turn darkness to beauty
Shadows into avenues of possibility
The masquerades of life show their triviality!
Your light is pure, not an alloy like brass
Your light is demure, not harsh like the Sun’s
Your light is calm, unlike man’s neon crafts
Your light shines for all castes, creeds and nations
You bathe all beings with your nectar, sweet amrut
Ambrosia given freely to all, heavenly fruit.
