Ardor’s Galaxies

He claimed that he loved her

With all of his earthly heart

And she accepted this gratefully

Graciously

Not knowing any differently

She thought it theirs was the epitome

Of requited love

No jealousy only transparency

Kindness and equanimity

And all was well

Until that day

It was a most fateful day

A shift occurred

It clawed at her insides where

Her earthly heart beat

The one that loved him with

An unmatched intensity

Began to cool

Began to question

The veracity of emotion

That he felt

That she felt

She stared into the stars

Searching for that part of his

Heart that lived

Cosmically

The same part that she

Sent each night to roam

Ardor’s galaxies

That brought her back dreams

Of knights in shining armor

She tried to find hidden closets

Hoping his sword and shield were there

In a place where she had not yet

Searched

She could not find them

  1. So, for this woman, having that spiritual connection with the man, eventually, wasn’t, quite enough…
