The Optimism on Steroids contest

Welcome to the Optimism on Steroids contest. Please write a gooey, saccharine, cringy inspirational paragraph (that will make Hallmark cards sound like poetry) on your blog or in the comments section. Address it to Gilbert who is our depressed Literati Mafia Mascot. Feel free to make sure it’s full of fluff. Add your sugary metaphors, your awful puns and shallow humour to make sure Gilbert feels more miserable. Remember the point is being bad at being good. Be one of those ‘friends’ who prattles on about believing in yourself and taking a leap of faith or whatever. We will announce the winner soon.

Have fun!

  1. Dearest soon-to-be-upbeat downbeat Gilbert
When life sends you lemons, think lemon meringue pie.
When life gives you the cat-o-nine-tails, think kittens.
When life sends you the Black Dog, think puppies.
When life sends you prickles, think tickles.
When life has you barfing, think laughing.
When the colours have run in your wash, think rainbows.
When in the darkness, think ‘I am the Knight’.
In the Garden of Gloom, think ‘I am the bloom’.
And when you think you are all alone, I am here
(except Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and any time GOT is on.)
